Pulling engine out the top...with tranny or w/o?

Pulling engine out the top...with tranny or w/o? I see a lot of pics of people pulling the motor out the top and I'm ready to pull but would like to keep the tranny in the car. Enough room to just do the bellhousing bolts and slide the clutch off the splines?

It's a 4th gen. Gotta do rings for a friend. Looks like I got the tranny bound a little... 
Drivers side is seperated by ~3/4" and the pass side is like 1/8"...
