Default Front timing cover seal part 2

Again, I'm installing my timing cover, then naturally the balancer. Do I want to wipe the seal with oil before installing the pully. Looks like the service manual says not to...but it doesn't say why not to.

New seals come with some sort of grease on the inside them. I know the service manual specifically states not to put oil on the inside of the seal. It does say to put oil on the outside of the seal and on the inside of the timing cover.

I didn't notice any grease...anybody else?

I do them dry, no leaks.
