Default Need Help Valve Spring Question

I just bought the ASA 226/236 cam and along with it bought a set of 1.300 in scoggin valve springs they are dual springs with a seat pressure of 135lbs is this too much spring for stock valves and heads and the "kit" didnt come with retainers. can i still use stock retainers or is it too much pressure? if i cant what kind of retainers would you guys suggest?

link to the springs for more info http://www.sdparts.com/product/SD142...S1Setof16.aspx

Those spring won't hurt the valves or heads but you can't use the stock retainers because your stockers are small for the factory behive spring. You will need to buy their matching titainium retainers and locks if ya want to use those springs. If it were me I would send those springs back and get their PAC behive spring so then you could use the factory retainers and locks.

135lbs is fine, as long as thats at the seat and not open pressure. Open pressure you're gonna want closer to 400lbs.

Just do what I and numerous others have done. Ls6 springs are all you will need and they will last forever. I got mine for $50 brand new.
