Default Cam selection help

Ok, I need help picking out a cam for my setup. Cam profiles are one of the things I have a hard time fully understanding. I've got LQ4 317 heads, Comp 918 springs, Moly pushrods, titanium retainers, and Pacesetter LT's. My goal is to get 420-450 rwhp. I'm not totally crazy about high revving engines so I want a cam that I won't have to rev the engine way up to make power. I don't want to completely kill my low-end power and I want good mid-range power. I also want to keep lift under .600 so I can still use my Comp 918's.

A couple cams I've looked at are:
TSP 233/239 .598/.603 (not sure if the 918's will work with this cam)
TSP 231/237 .598/.595
TSP 233/ 233 .595/.595

Any other suggestions are also welcome and highly appreciated.

Check flow numbers associated with the heads you upgraded to. Contact the retailer, or someone who sells those heads and ask them for their opinion on cam specs for these heads. You can probably come up with a good custom grind to meet your criteria. The cams you are looking at are strong, but will have most of the power at your high RPM's (6000+). That's my opinion...Good luck

Unfortunately, the ramp rates of the cams that you listed are probably outside the realm of what would work best with 918s. Better to stick with Comp XE high lift lobes. You will still be able to hit your goals without the excessive lift. Keep in mind, the 317 heads have larger chambers than 241 and 243 heads and you will lose compression, hurting power. 425-450 rwhp takes lots of airflow and lots of cam. Since you're running 317s with lower compression, you're going to need a very big cam (duration-wise).
