Default Lifters...

I grabbed some LS7 lifters and new LS2/7 lifter cups in anticipation of doing heads. I will be throwing some heads on, but probably not for a little while longer. My question is, would it be useful to swap out the lifters now, or just wait until I get the heads (no telling when that'll be this summer)? My cam is small by most standards (.609/.585 at 224/226 111+3), and as best as I can tell, the lifters are stock (they might be change, I have positively no clue... when I did the cam swap, the LS2 timing set was already on the car. Odd). Oil pressure is always above 40, sometimes I hear a faint piston slap and the pressure dips about 1-2psi. When wide open even when fully warm, I almost peg the OP gauge. Wait (if it aint broke don't fix it) or do 'em? Thanks.

Wait 'til your head swap, keep up w/ your oil and you should be fine.

seeing as how you must pull the heads to get at the lifters I'd wait.
