Default lifters with torquer 2

im getting a torquer 2 cam with 5.3 heads and im wondering if i need to do my lifters and if i do will the ls7 lifters from texas speed work or will i need something better. and this might seem like a stupid question but i have no idea. are 5.3L head just off a 5.3 engine and if it is can i just find a 5.3L vortec at a junk yard and rebuild the heads. or is my best bet just to buy the precision race components stg2.5 5.3L heads. thank you

I am doing the LS7's in mine because you get a lot of insurance for $110. Plus they are are an upgraded design. Yes they are heads off a 5.3 but the PRC's have been CNC ported and will produce much more power. 5.3's have smaller chambers which raise compression plus many of the other valve train componets in the PRC's have been upgraded. Mine are at the shop going on now

I replaced my lifters w/ ls7 lifters. I had 119k miles on the car when I did the swap. As long as you are doing a h/c package, you may as well for as cheap as new lifters are. Good luck w/ your setup. BTW--I would suggest getting some heads from a sponsor rather than finding 5.3 heads and getting all the machine work done. You will probably spend less money buying them and will have a better flowing head.

That's the same set-up I have and I used the LS7 lifters and haven't had any problems. The PRC stg 2.5 5.3ltr heads from TSP are awesome! The cam is ok too. I should have went bigger.....

This is the same setup I wanna do later this summer and I figured i would go ahead and do the lifters while its out. For 110 bucks cant see why you wouldn't.
