Head gasket questions round 2...

I just got a set of Fel-pro PT head gaskets today and sure enough the thickness is .058 not the 30 or 40 thousands I was expecting. Should I go for a set of Cometic gaskets @ .030 or .036 to reduce the quench area a bit and hopefully pick up a few ponies while trying to reduce detonation?

hmm with the thicker head gasket your compression be lower/safer but do you care about that or just want power. Also what are the specs on your cam and how much where you heads milled? I see the compression retio above but I forget what that translates into for 5.3 heads.
