Is it worth swapping my cam?
Is it worth swapping my cam? Right now i have a patriot 226/226 .585/.585 112LSA...
I love its driveability...but i hate its top end performance. I know it might be my intake situation that is suffocating it up top (stock ls1 intake & LS1 ported TB). I'm doing a LS6 combo or a fast 78 combo in the next few weeks and i am debating on putting a LG G5X3.2 in there. I really love the way it sounds, and it seems like on a 114+4 LSa i could still build some torque under the curve with it.
would this cam swap be worth it overall? If it would...what types of gains do you think i would see over the 226 cam?

Well a larger cam will give you the top-end you want, but by sacrificing the lower end of the rpms. My MS3 pulls great in the higher rpms, but with the stock 3.42s its a dog from a slow roll.

aren't the MS3's on a narrower LSA than the g5x3? I figured that having a wider (114+4) LSA i would be able to make up for some low end power that i would be sacrificing going bigger.
I think just swapping the LS1 intake out will get you where you want to be. IMO, don't waste time with the FAST 78 combo. Go with either the LS6 (if you can get it cheap) or go FAST 92/92. If you have a DD, the cam you have in there should be just fine with a better intake/tb combination. Good Luck.
