Default What next?

I own a 1999 Z28/A4. I currently have an MTI lid, smooth bellows, SLP LM1 catback, and 3.73 gears. I just got outrun buy a new Mustang GT/CS. I'm pissed!!!! What Mod or mods should I do next to avoid this calamity in the future? By the way, don't know if it was highly modded or not. Hope so, it would make me feel a liitle better!

You need to finish your bolt-ons first before you start going to internal work. Or you could run the Cheater cam from Thunder Racing if you wanted to keep the stock manifolds. You need to get a LS6 intake or one of the aftermarket equivelents anyways. But you shouldn't be losing to one of those cars anyways. Unless it was blown or turbo'd. They're pretty slow.

You could always spray it too. That would take care of most cars that you come across.

It had to be modded. My buddy has an 08 with full exhaust and the Mach 1 intake system with a Hurst short throw and my stock 2001 Camaro SS walked him.

a 3500 stall will make that car fly. then add headers, ls6 intake, and a 224 cam...in that order.

the car should run high 11s with no trouble. be sure to also put on a trans cooler and a trans go shift kit with a stall to make the trans last...i never had a bit of trouble with mine. the 700r4 deep pan and filter kit are a good idea too.

Thanks ya'll! Numerous people mentioned a stall. I am hesitant to get a stall because it's a dd. I know nothing about them though. Are they beneficial at 60 mph, or onlt to launch? Also, I do want to put headers on it, but am worried about finding a reputeable shop to tune the car. I've heard of people having ALL kinds of problems w/ their cars after a tune if it isn't done right. I don't want that headache! If I put headers and Y-Pipe on car, it has to be tuned, correct?

Also, will a H-pipe or X-pipe fit under these cars? Maybe get a different sound?

You will have a SES light if you remove EGR, cats ,and AIR, but you don't NEED a tune. You can easily get them deleted so you don't throw a SES light, or get it tuned for a little more power. You won't have drivability problems with headers/tune, its when you get into bigger cams you can have that.

Stall, I have no idea, haha.
