Does anyone know a reason why there are two dimples on the shaft between the rockers and does it have anything to do with installation? Some one said its a mfg mark when the shafts are held during machining. Also how much did you have to shim them. I am going to install them on AFR heads with average .605" lift. Just looking for an average. I know one guy shimmed .125" with a .588" lift.

Thanks, Mike V

But having a mfg background for 35 years I wouldn't think that anyone would put a centerless ground shaft in a jig that would leave two dimples except on purpose, but who knows.

Just looked at them again, they appear to be pretty deep for a "dimple" and look to be intentionally put in. That's why the only thing I could figure is they were using them to hold the piece from spinning during other operations or they could be an optical key or something for automated operations. Either way, the counterbore for the bolt is the same on both sides, its not mentioned in the instructions so I plan to simply place them out of view. That's how I installed my last set.

Have you tried shooting an e-mail to YT in Australia?

I haven't yet, thought I would see if anyone else noticed first. Next is YT.
