317 heads question
317 heads question I am still with stock ported LS1 heads and mods are in my sig. I am looking to run 10-12 psi with my turbo and looking at switching to some 317 casting heads. Does anyone know the benchflow on these and if it is a good decision. Thanks
It is a common swap for boost. The 317 casting is a LS6 port design with an open chamber. So, you get better flow and drop the compression about 3/4 point if I remember correctly. You need to use the 6.0 head gasket with these heads.
I seen a comparison chart between a stock 317 head vs a stock LS6 head and the LS6 head flows better. If I remember corectly, the 317 head flowed about 5 cfm better than the stock LS1 head.
