Slight Knock/Tick in 2001 LS1

I have started noticing a slight knock from my motor. I have donne the screwdriver to the ear test on the valve covers and have determined it is not the valve train. It is almost too quiet to be a rod and almost goes away completely once the engine is at operating temperature. I have heard something about GM over boring the #7 cylinder and that causing piston slap. Can anyone help me out here? What could this be?

Was this sound with the car when you first got it? Which side is it coming from? How fast is the sound at idle RPM? Does it consistently follow the RPM at higher speeds?

Sounds like piston slap .. If only done when cold I wouldn't sweat it to much.
