Default Callies Rod Bearing Question

Rod bolts (ARP) are radically different in size between what I ordered for my Callies Compstar H-Beam forged stroker (6.125) rods, and OEM LS1 cracked-cap rods.

Now for the stupid question: I'm using an Eagle forged 4340 crank....will OEM size rod bearings work with this combination? Anyone know if Clevite, Federal Mogul, etc., have a part# for a coated rod bearing that will work with my set up?

The ARP's are gonna be a 7/16 rod bolt while the stock GM ones are a metric, like M9 I think.

But anyways, a Clevite 663H rod bearing should work, but you may need a 663HX combination to get proper oil clearance. The 663H is for a 2.100" crank pin and a 2.2247 rod housing. If you got the SJ Compstars and turned the crank down to a 2.00", then you'd need the 745H.

Thanks, all!

I searched every web site I could think of, and made numerous phone calls. After sifting through all the information, I went with Clevite CB663HK rod bearings.

663HK and 663 HNK are basically the same bearing, I believe the Narrowed bearing superceeds the first number.

I ordered coated bearings, so I'm assuming this is what the "K" means? The bearings are definitely coated, and they seem to snap into both the rod and cap (upper/lower) ends just fine when I did a "trial check". They gotta be right.....I hope.

Anyway, thanks for the information. There's dozens of detail mistakes you can make ordering parts for a rebuild.
