The setup sounds like itll make good power to the wheels if it all works together properly.

the early run of that intake had some leaking/sealing issues. they've been addressed. Now everyone on the internet throws in their 2 cents based on what their friend's friend told them about something they read on the internet once. I suggest if you do get one, take the bottom plate off and clean it up a little bit, there is some casting flash... I'd like to see someone flow a ported 96mm typhoon vs a ported 90 fast and get the results in CFM.

See my sig...it is a Eagle rotating assembly with -2cc JE pistons (scr is 11.3). It also has Smith Brothers push rods,TCI balancer,HS rocker arms and MSD 8mm wiring. Putting together a 383 that will last (I hope) isn't cheap...but if you want to go fast it pays to cover all the bases.

Yea im goin to get it anyway and judge for myself how it is. I would imagine the 96mm wouldnt be to much for the setup, itd be just right. Im hopin to spend only bout 4000-4500 on everything, im goin through TSP for parts prolly!!

I would consider a different cam then the ms3 for a 383. There is much more power potential if you run a different cam.

As mentioned earlier, you don't bore an LS1 - it gets honed. A 383 equals a 3.905" bore and a 4.00" stroke. You'll need a stroker crank from Eagle, Lunati, Callies, or SCAT plus pistons specifically for a 4" stroke. Also, the block might need to be notched for the longer stroke (rods slightly hit the bottom of the cylinders with some rods). Good luck.

If that is the case then I would not expect to be at the top of the power chain for a 383. It will still make good torque and decent power though. If you get a fast 90 and have decent heads I would expect over 450 rwhp.

I was running a Futral 239/243 cam and made 487 rwhp and 475 rwtq with it. I have a new cam now and need to get back to the dyno with a new clutch.

Sorry,
Would the set listed from TSP be a good choice as far as the rotating assemblies go?

Are there any other things I need to look into parts wise to get the ball rolling?
Has anyone heard what a TRex cam would be like in a 383?

Stroked 383's are great. Mine made these numbers below with SVO 30# injectors, a FAST90/90 and a smaller cam than the Futral above. The power is in the heads, not having a huge cam. A lesson so many people have learned on LS1Tech.

Now I run 42# Lucas injectors and a ported Victor Jr. I have not dynoed the new setup yet.

So yea, i was thinking thats why the PRC 2.5's would be a good match. I was shooting for 10:1 if thats a good ratio. I thought the MS3 would do fine, i mean it'll still give me enough power but not my highest potential. Wut about the lifters and rocker arms, wut would be a good setup?

I am running about 11.6 to 1 on the CR. As for the lifters I went with Morels, and I am still using the stock rockers.

1.7 is stock. Are you building this yourself??

You don't just slap it all together andnthink you've built a 383

This is accuarete :

Well if you've got a mech with you you should be ok. The block will need to be honed to 3.905 and then you want to line hone and of course deck it for proper quench with your pistons. Find a local machine shop to do it for you. Make sure they use the same fasteners your going to use. If you cant find a local shop we can do the machine work for you, but you pay shipping both ways.
