Default Advice on purchasing heads

At the performance shop that I took my Cobra to (Their main specialty is Mustangs, but they work on everything), one of the mechanics there is a GM guy. Talking with him today, he told me that he was building an LS1 motor for his S10 to drag race and basically had several other projects going at the same time and he ran out of interest. He has a set of Partiot Heads sitting in his storage facility that he bought a while back from someone else, that have already been CNC'd, that he'd give me for next to nothing (He's a friend of mine).

I was looking at putting these on my '02 LS1 Vette along with a cam (unsure of which yet) and I have a few questions:

Whats the general concensus of Patriot Heads?

Which Casting # Patriot Heads do I want?

Since the heads have already been CNC'd, whats the maximum flow numbers that I want for use with a mild (228-230ish duration, 580ish lift) cam (my shop has a flow bench and we're going to flow them)? I just want to make sure that the heads aren't too hogged out for the cam I choose.

Also, what size Combustion Chambers should I look for to attain 11:1 Compression, on my stock bottom end LS1?

In a way, I'm thinking of just buying a heads and cam package from a company that's already been tested and not worry about Spring Heights, correct Spring Pressures, correct Push Rod Length, etc., but if I can do it with these heads and manage to do it economically, it might be worth it to do a little measuring and research here and there.

Any and all thoughts welcome.

I would get the LS6 heads with the 59cc dhambers. Could yield up to 50 rwhp, plus whatever the cam gives you. I would get thier patriot gold dual springs. Those are good to .650" lift I think.

MAtch this with a TR or TSP cam and youre set. You could use pretty much any cam you wanted to with these heads.
