Updated TEA 5.3 truck heads flow #s within...
phill, how about you do that, post all the flow bench data, including what and who's flow bench, test pressure, bore size, and weather corrections. listen I like to see facts, i dont like to see someone who is obviously related to or working for a shop post out of proportion numbers without backing it up, look at mti and thunder, they back all there data up with printed flow sheets and graphs from the bench itself, they show all the testing perameters, so lets see them
i put down 436 rwhp with a 233/236 600/591 @ 110 with my TEA stage II. that was with a bad MAF and alot of valve float. i just got my new combo in and will be dynoing it after i break it in. i'll keep you posted.
algws6, thats alot better, but can you list your sig and a graph, i read one of your posts and you said that was with cut outs so list your sig and post the graph, every one would love to see it
i don't have a scanner but hear is my list
thunder racing 1.75 headers
crank pully
dual cut out
ls1 motors sports lid
nx maf ends(no n2o was used)
ported TB
no short belt
tr6
12 bolt with 4:30s
tuning by AMS and supposedly the dyno they use reads conservative. i will let you know in a couple of weeks what my new setup does but it should be closer to 450rwhp.

atta boy phill. thanks, I know your going to hate me but, we already came to the conclusion that gtp and tea's bench is not a superflow and a superflow reads 15-20 cfm lower, but the numbers are still great and on a superflow they will be 297 at .600, which will make great power
one more question. who is doing the work for you, tea or another shop?

What kind of bench does GTP and TEA use? I know the heads were flowed on the same bench. I am 100% sure of it.

this is from tea's web site under about tea
One of Brian's first purchases was a Flow Data flow bench. Flow Data benches use a high quality Meriam Instrument element, unlike Super Flow benches.
I know that super flow is concidered the industy standard and it looks like flow data is a less expensive alternative to them, but there is differances in the two as far as results, not sure what makes the difference and which is more acurate but this is one reason why flow numbers have to be looked at with a little more detail, if it was up to me I would have my heads flowed on a flow data bench becuase they do seem to read higher but the superflow seems to produce the more accurate results as far as power output.
I dont know if one head will stall earlier on one than the other but thats starting to get way out of my league, but maybe someone like ls1derfull with some flow bench experience can chime in and give more of an experienced response

Ok, so I guess someone called bullshit....
I think the flow numbers look good and hope you see killer numbers.
oh, I thought he was saying I was calling bs, flat out phills car ran killer before and as long as they dont stall or stall with the intake then his car is going to run even better
His car has gone almost 125 mph, I'd say the heads flow pretty well.
Phil, What all did your guy touch up on the heads? Any additional hand porting or anything?

Matt,
Here is what we did with the new heads....
1) installed new valves intake and exhaust
2) installed new valve seals
3) changed valve job
4) reblended bowls/changed shape
5) Milled heads .005 for cleanup

I guess we might not be able to see the differences as it appears that Fed-Ex® has lost my cylinder heads.

Will the insurance cover new cylinder heads?

Ne14a6T9,
Why in the world do you think that? That is a very strong word to use especially about me. I appreciate the good words but I don't hate anyone.
