Default Another broken engine!!!

My forged engine broke 2 days ago. Not sure what the cause was but the timing chain is snapped, front timing cover blew to pieces, and a huge chunk of the front of the oil pan broke off. The crankshaft is also not sitting flat anymore, the backside of the shaft is down as per a visual look at the crank pulley, its cockeyed like a ****.

My guess is busted main cap by the looks of how the crank is sitting. Stange because it has ARP studs on the mains so it should have been able to stay together. And I doubt the snapped chain would have caused the crank to get all jacked up like that.

Oh well, time to rebuild again!!!

That sucks! did you have an oiling issue? If your interested I'd like to offer my services to you. Our engines are consistent and of great quality, but if you know anything about HKE then I dont need tell you that.

I went back out and relooked and the crank pulley is crooked but the engine does crank with no weird noise so maybe I got lucky and the chain just snapped. Im hoping I can get away with a align hone and cylinder wall cleanup along with new bearings and new piston rings. And of couse a new oil pan and front cover since those are destroyed.

Got it tore apart finally and saw the carnage.

The front main on the block cracked which resulted in the block splitting in a few places and the front main cap split in half which in turn tore up everything under the front cover.

I need a block, crank, oil pan, front cover, and timing set.
