heads for weekend car?
Well I'm building a datsun 280Z weekend car with an LS1/T56 in it.
The motor has 40k on it and has a new 224/224 114+4 cam, LS6 intake and headers, upgraded valvetrain. It won't be running power steering, AC or any accessories other than alt and water pump. The primary use for the car will be a weekend cruiser for my wife and I as well as driving it to and from work a few days a week. The car will have drag radials for 1/4mile fun
I was wondering what kind of heads would be anice gain for this car.
I assume people will ask for budget info, for new I'd like to keep it to $1500 for them complete. Although I could reuse my new valvesprings (918's IIRC) that are on the stock heads.
I was thinking that maybe a set of 5.3L heads which would bump the compression to the 10.8~:1 which will still e streetable on pump gas (94 octane is the highest I can get).
Thoughts? Comments? Concerns?
