ls1 swap questions

ls1 swap questions Here is the story. I talked to a guy today that has a 02 camaro ss that he wants to sell. The car had 49k miles on it. One day the car was driven through some water, on the road, and the engine shut off.
He bought a wrecked 99 vette with 37k miles on it and swapped the motor into the camaro.
What would be the pros and cons to this other than the mileage? Would this make a difference as far as buying aftermarket parts in the future? All of the threads I have seen lead me to believe it would actually have lost power to due the loss of the LS6 intake and the 01-02 heads.
Looking for some good input guys, thanks for your help.

Yea the 99 heads if they are the 853's arent as good as the 02's and the ls1 intake either. Buying parts doesnt change though, its still an ls1 and it's already been swapped into the camaro.
I would think he is still using the ls6 intake. There would be no reason why he couldn't have swapped it onto the replacement engine. Did he tell you he's using the LS1 intake or are you assuming?

I am assuming he just had the motors swapped. I don't think he is real knowledgable on the differences of the different motors. I figure they used the camaro's pcm also. I wasn't either until recently, because all I ever researched before were LT1's. I guess I have a few more questions I need to ask him.
