All stroke 395 CI motor?

All stroke 395 CI motor? I'm considering a stock aluminium block motor with a 4.125 stroker crank.
Someone here said it will be a turd becasue the stroke is too long for the bore.
How much will I have to dish the pistons if I will use 60CC chambered LS6 heads that have already been milled .055?
Your thoughts?

I dunno about it being a turd. Mine made 484rwhp peak last month with 3.42 gears.

Re: All stroke 395 CI motor? MMT in Texas did it. I didnt want problems with dropping sleeves etc.
Their stage 2 heads with 2.02/1.57 valves and a big *** custom cam: over 240 duration and .600 lift. Its on a 02Z06 with all the bolt ons.
Waiting for one of the new intake manifold.

Re: All stroke 395 CI motor? $2k is just the bare block. Need pistons, rings, etc. for a proper comparison to a stroker crank set-up.
I'd sure like to see a reasonable priced stroker kit, but maybe the resleeved blocks will be the only affordable option. They seem to be getting cheaper.

The block with machining is about $3K; then add pistons, rings, etc and your way over $4K...
