Congratulations on your build!!!!

Shame on you for not buying a set of main studs though, they are nice.

Did you perform a piston to valve check by chance?

ha ha. i ran out of funds. I'm not planning on pushing this motor to hard. I never did get a chance to check ptv. I hope it all works out for me. I know it was so easy to check but its what happens when things sit for 6 months. Just want it together..

Looks very nice, I'm in the process of doing that myself. My forged 347 is ready to go back in the car but I am waiting on a transmission snag to get worked out first.

I'm also too lazy to paint the valve covers/throttle body/intake like you did, they look great.

Looks good. What kind of paint did you use?

I'm guessing you ordered your rods and pistons from TSP as well?

99% Of everything i bought came for TSP, good people to work with. The start up should be tonight or maybe friday. Just got in the last coolant passage plug and oil pressure sensor. I at least will have it in the car by tonight ready to fire. I don't think i'll ever do the short block myself again. For what i spent i could of had a good 403 or somethin a little nicer.
Any tips on first start up and breaking anything in? Like i said this is my first build with limited knowledge about things. Just wanna make sure the rings and piston/ cam are broke in right.. I'll post up some video when its done.

Start it and let it sit and warm up, look for leaks and scary sounds for a few minutes. Then go drive around for a while normally and go ahead and get on it some to aid in seating the rings. If your tune is off and it is really lean you might want to stay out of WOT, bu8t you can still push the pedal down far.

The idea is to apply load to the engine so that everything seats.

I have a similar but milder set up, good luck with the start up, I hope you enjoy it.

Let us know what she makes after you've broke it in.

Good Job on the build too.
