Default Isky Cams

Would any of you guy's run Isky cams, and valve train components if they were available on hear at a competitive price? For those of you that might not know, ISKY is a family owned American company that's been around since the 1950's. They are big on quality, and don't outsource the manufacturing of valve train components to foreign countries. Everything they sell is American made, from American material. No china cam cores, or valve springs made in Mexico. I know the grinds in there catalog are older mild lobes, but they just released some newer more aggressive profiles for the LS1. 206@.050, .553'' lift up to 248@.050'' .670'', and a few other lobes up to 260@.050. If you go to there site on line they have a mini catalog just for LS1, the lobes, springs, etc are there.

I have looked into using them on a profile. Lobe lift is an issue with certain masters that I have seen though.

What lobe lift and .050'' duration are you looking for?

Isky has been around forever and make top quality parts. Their valvesprings are the best in the business. I run their springs on my marine SBC's. Their Red Zone solid roller lifters are also top shelf. Have no fear using Isky parts.

I got the lobe profile sheet at home. .370 would be the most I need. The anything bigger than that, should be used for an LS3/LS7/L92 head IMO.

They are a good name, though probably not well known to most of the LSX crowd. I'm a bit older than most on here and remember their products from my SBC days. I imagine they would do well if they advertised a bit more and got a name for themselves here. Comp is the most popular for the LSX's, and I think it's because they got into them early and have alot of options available as well as info on their web sight and easy to acquire custom grinds.

I've used Isky springs on almost all solid roller LS/LT stuff we've done here. They have some of the best valvesprings available. I had some horrible valvetrain harmonics with a set of competitors springs in a 383 SR Lt1 car a couple years back. I switched to a set of Isky Tool Room springs with almost identical specs... picked up 60RWHP with the increased valve control and RPM... also picked up 40RWTQ in the midrange.

Isky cams have been around since the start of hot rodding. I remember seeing pictures of Ed in his lakes roadster dating back to the 40's and 1950's. Neat that the company remains American like Edelbrock.

Default Isky Cams

Isky has many masters other than those shown on their lobe sheets. You need to call and talk to their tech dept. regarding your needs.

I have always had my custom cams ground by Isky. Quality of grinding is quite good (I check everything here on my Cam Doctor) as is the power. Their valve gear, lifters, springs are top notch as others have indicated. Their Tool Room springs are the best available for any form of distance racing.

Isky is one of the best there is.

I have used thier parts in many of my Rat's as well as small blocks.
Always great components and equally great service.

Haven't as yet in any LSX but now that they have expanded that series at the next chance I wil give them a look.
