max horsepower build
max horsepower build just wondering on what you would do to get the absolute most horsepower out of your ls1 if you were to limit yourself to a cam only build, no heads. i know a lot of people are upwords of 400hp cam only, but not all. lets ecxlude the nawwwss from this one.
1 7/8 stepped headers, 3 inch true duals, ported TB, underdrive pulleys, electric water pump, lid, 100 mm MAF, fast 92/92, and a custom cam spec'd by either pat g or predator z, along with all the supporting mods for the cam swap

I would forget the dyno numbers, and find the fastest cam only daily driven LS1, and try to find out what there setup is. You will need all the other stuff to utilize it, not just the cam.

+1 it takes a well thought out combo to make the car fast and not just a dyno queen...

My cam only car runs 11.5's and with the new 92/92 and ud pulley probably low low 11's, and with a EWP probably high 10's... Obviously a well built H/C car would spank a cam only but, there are alot of h/c cars only running mid 11's. If you do some serious work, like competition eliminator type things, you could crank out some serious numbers, i think the record is like a 10.3 cam only. But also the money it would cost you to squeeze every last h/p outof a cam only car probably would equal as much as a good head.
