All depends on your driving style.. freeway, stop and go.. do you take off easy or stomp on the gas at all of the red lights?
Many of the manufactors are not stating that oil changes should be 5k or even 7k.. but that all depends on driving habit and style. With the new Synthetic.. it make it more possible.
Bottom line, if your easy on your cars driving habit.. stretching it is no problem, if your hard on your car.. 3-4k would be a good idea.
