Trying to find info on what sparks plugs to replace the stock ones with , they have about 65k on them think it may be time to change.

 

NGK TR55 is what a lot of guys run..or the NGK TR6 if you use NOS or have high compression

 

are they pregapped if not what gap to run

 

I would run the tr55 if you are stock with bolt ons. gap them around .045

Ok I changed the plugs to just the stock iridium tipped ac delco and now i here a clatter at high rpms.

 

See what happens when you do not listen...can you say NGK...if you must run a iridium plug get Denso that is what comes in the car as OEM...I prefer to run a NGK TR6 copper plug...I change them out every 12K-15K miles cause I like to see how they look...you can tell alot about your engine by looking at your plugs..and for $1.96 a piece you can't beat the price....

 

so that does not explain the clatter that was not there before . This motor is bone stock.

 

can any one explain the difference in ngk and iridium tipped plugs and explain the huge price difference. what makes ngk so much better

 

Top secret **** mang if we told you we'd have to kill you....they just work the best and Bosch don't work along with some others..NGK is the real deal...just go with the flow....do you have all your wires on good and tight..did you maybe crack the porcilin on a plug when you installed them.

or could just be a flunk I got gas after changed the plugs at a station I dont normally go to could be bad gas. of course if it does not go away I guess a wire may cause it to clatter at high rpms never had it happen but hey anything is possible.

 

check out everything that you did and make sure all is well before you jump to conclusions..that is the first thing to do..good luck

 

this just makes me mad that it was fine and now it sucks at high rpm i was trying to do a little gas saving tune up now I just want to put the stockers back in the damn thing.

 

I always use NGK TR55's. I havn't had one fail on me yet.

 

Why do you gap them at .45. Why not the stock recommended gap? Just wondering thanks

ok so i went back over everything took her down the road and at 80-100 there is a slight clatter to me is sounds like bad gas clatter i dont think i can link it to the plugs i installed.

 

Get yourself a can of Heet or some other moisture displacement product add it to that tank of gas and drive all that tank of gas out till you are almost empty and then fill up with some good gas and hopfully your problems will be over with..you might want to throw a can of injector cleaner in there while your at it ... good luck!

 

ya its not unlikely where i live to get bad gas and i always run 93 but i just got it from a station i don't normally use, so i cant link that to the plugs right?
