Default How will my car run with this combo?

I traded my LT1 heads/cam/stall car for a LS1 Z28. This was over a month ago. I started ordering parts right when I got it. I should be getting the final part (the heads) any day now. -Some of these companys are taking forever on these parts....

But anyway, here's the combo:

CAM - 227/227 .640/.640 lift 114 LSA

HEADS - LS1 CNC ported stage 2
Combustion Chamber: 67cc
Intake Runner: 220cc
Exhaust Runner: 67cc
Intake Valve: 2.02"
Exhaust Valve: 1.57"
Max. Valve Spring Lift: 0.650"
Spring Pressure Closed: 135 lbs. @ 1.800"
Spring Pressure Open: 375 lbs. @ 1.090"
Retainer Material: Titanium
Valve Seal Material: Viton
Valve Guide Material: Manganese Bronze
Valve Job: 5-angle
Intake flow at .600 = 296
Exhaust flow = 220

CONVERTER: 3300 RPM stall with 1.9 STR

and 2.73 gears

Car has all the free mods and some weight reduction

How do you guys think this combo run? I am getting very excited to get it going

that gear abd stall will suck...id do a 373 and a 3800 2.5 str......i dont think that setup would make alot of bottom end power.....

I already have the cam, heads and stall - No changing there. I will eventualy get some gears, but I am going to run thoes 2.73s for a bit

This is way more of a street car / DD than a drag racer, but it will see strip time

I do not have ANY exp riding in a geared and stalled A4. I do have a A4 TA and I read about a lot of combos on LS1tech. If I was going to do a H/C combo I would probably go with something similar to the aforementioned poster^^^^. However, your stall may not be that bad but you need to at least get something bigger than a 2.73 gear (> or =3.42s). I hope that was a typo.

i think it will run like turds up to 4,500. i would expect ~400whp with that head/cam combo through an unlocked 4l60e, probably put you trapping around 115-116. it would run ok, but be a slouch in the low rpms.

My heads cam 2700 12'in stall LT1 with 3.73 gears had power everywhere.... Blew 315 nitto drag radials off the rim. I did eventualy switched to a 3000 9" stall on this car...

So 3300 stall on the LS1 is low?

I drove the car for a few days with the free mods and weight reduction and it seemed to move good for stock?

The converter isnt as bad as the 2.73s. I'd agree with say a 3600 stall but 3.42s. You can get an entire used 3.42 rear from an M6 for like $300.

I think we all agree you need more gear. On the stall you need to consider that the LT's produced max torque lower in the rpm range and don't spin as high so not as much stall is needed. I'm sure I could go 4000 on mine and still DD perfectly.

Also, run a thinner gasket and/or mill what you can to get compression up. Those 67cc heads will hurt you a bit.

Lastly, that much lift is not necessary and may have you changing out springs more than I like but with the right rear/stall you will have a nice stong streetcar!!!

Good luck and enjoy it!!!
