Ive wondered about this...I went with a set of PRC stage 2.5 5.3L heads, milled down to 59cc(same size as the OP's). My numbers are in my sig, and I think it will be pretty safe to say that I will make around 420 when I get my LT's and custom y on monday(currently running shorty headers and stock cats)
So lets say I make around 420, thats 16 less than the op. My cam is a little bit bigger, but my power curve is nearly identical.
So really considering the OP's extra CI, how much of an improvement are the AFR's over my PRC's?

Of course I understand that the AFR's are better quality, and would love to have some of my own, but hell my heads cost me less than 2000 brand new from TSP.
So what are the other advantages of the AFR's?

I have a smaller cam and made a lot more power and torque with AFR heads.

+1 for another satisfied AFR head owner. I love the power everywhere and the great throttle response. Can't wait to see what happens when I put a bigger bumpstick in. Good luck and enjoy your new found power.

Yep had an AFR heads and cammed car when I had my TA. I was very satisfied with the power it made. Actually have plans for a similar setup for my current project after it gets on the road..

There's a reason AFR has been in buisness as long as they have. Proof is in the numbers of their products. Like what's been said before you get what you pay for to a certain point...

Headers and exhaust is almost always the first thing I do. Kinda look at it as a standard thing to do to your car.

I just recently finished a H/C upgrade on my 2004 Z06:
-AFR 205 w/64cc chambers
-Cometic 0.040" Gaskets
-Patriot Perf cam 225/229/.580/.587-114
-Cadillac lifters
-hardened 7.4" pushrods
-Powerbond Pulley
-Honker air intake
-BBK Shorty Headers ($399)
-Magnaflow x-pipe and mufflers
-New ERA Ported Stock TB

Still have stock LS6 intake manifold, rocker arms, stock Z06 cats.

I feel that the AFR's played a big role in my power gains

BBT, those are some good numbers. I bet the stock intake is causing the motor to flatline around 6400 rpm. Yes, the AFR heads are just awesome.

The FAST intake ported will net gains on h/c everywhere and you wont lost anything. Boltons is a different story but some had incredible results. If you get a ported one, you can see 30rwhp+. not too bad for the price.

Thanks......I'm using a stock Z' spark curve under 4K RPMs, and only running 24'- 25' timing after that. It's pretty conservative, but I live in the desert where it's 100+ outside all summer

Nice numbers especially with the 9". I can't wait to get a set of AFR's but I have to get some bills paid off and still need an intake, LT's, and going to do true-duals.

Ah... you guys and your M6 cars...

I just ordered some AFR 205's, I can only hope my car makes similar numbers to your cars.

The amount of power I got from a H/C swap is amazing... the amount of torque these things produce is insane. The quality is nothing short of perfection.

I used to work at RKSport a couple years back when I first started talking to Tony about his heads... just like most people, money was a little tight and it's taken me a couple years till I could afford a set. But what do ya know... my engine took a dump and it was time for some upgrades

With a lot of help from my local LSX shop Cunningham Motorsports (CMS - a sponser here). My new engine with the new power adders was astonishing... creating reliable power with a tap of the throttle

My main mods are in my sig, for those of you interested...

I just wanted to share how pleased I am with the QC of the AFR lineup and hope that when it comes time to purchase a set of heads many of you will give em a shot at your business

Man very nice torque curve...awesome...congrats
