Exclamation installing cam, top dead center?

well, im installing a cam in next week, with heads, i was wondering when i take off the heads and the cam, when im putting the timing chain back on and aligning the dots, should the #1 piston be top dead center, meaning when the dots are aligned so should the piston be top dead center?

Yes, I just did this yesterday make sure the dots are aligned and when the dot on the crank gear is at 12:00 you should be at TDC cylinder #1. Just be absolutely sure to get those dots as perfect as possible.
