Default Do I need to drain the water to replace the ect sensor?

I need to replace mine and am wondering how much coolant I'll lose in the process if I don't drain the system. I need to bleed the coolant system again, right?

depends on how fast you are. on a cold engine with it on the last couple threads and the new one in the other hand i'm thinking about a pint of loss if that.

Didn't lose too much, not even a pint judging from the water container.
