Default Fixes for stripped head bolt hole?

What's the expert opinion on here? Will a heli-coil hold up? Motor is going to remain pretty stock with a cam. It's going in my truck.

Aren't helicoils are stronger than original threads?

Yes, there are helicoils that are stonger than hell. It's a pain but if done correctly there will be no ill effect.

The service manual has the repair procedure for this along with the applicable parts. You need to make sure you have enough thread engagement to hold the loads so heli-coil length will be important.

We have performed this procedure. Its not fun but its not too difficult either. I'm not sure if you can by the repair kit for one hole or if you must buy the whole set. We bought the whole kit since we did an entire block.
