Default 862 Heads

Well I found a set of used 862 heads around town on Craigslist, and I'm just wondering how well those heads perform? I'm doing a budget build right now and aiming for 450-470 RWHP threw a 6spd, with a MS3 cam, and 11-11.5:1 compression.

This is my 1st LS motor build so I'm just looking now, and there pretty cheap (75 bucks), so I'm thinking it's a great deal jump on it or there junk?

450/470 rwhp and cheap do not go together. unported look for 243 casting, ported that price is too good to be true.

I was still gonna have them ported and 2.0 valves put in them, do the LS6 casting flow better than a ported 5.3 casting?

Those heads are crap. Like said previously, go for the 243 casting.

So no one really answered my question.....

Are the 862's worth using on a small cam + N20 car?
