do 01-02 fbodies have ls6 heads? i know they have the intake but i read in another thread that they have ls6 heads too? thanx

 

Some do, some don't. You can get the casting number off the head for identification. I'm pretty sure that 243 designates the LS6 head and 241 is the LS1 head.

 

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I've researched; 10%-15% of 01's and 25% of 02's f-bodies came with an LS6 BLOCK but thats it. This was do to a quality problem with the regular LS1 block. They didn't come with LS6 pistons or LS6 heads or cam.

 

I'm pretty sure none of them came with LS6 heads.

that correct, some block do come with LS6, but u just gotta check the casting number on the block
