leaky rear main?

leaky rear main? just had the motor pullled to change rod bearings, put it all back together with new seals and gaskets. now the clutch is slipping. put it in 6th around 50 and put the pedal to the floor, and it just revs right up. rear main leaking you think? i didnt personally install the rear main, my dad did, but i hear you have to get these lined up perfect or theyre gonna leak. the car only had 30 miles on it whenn it started slipping. im just wanting to hear other opinions before i pull the tranny back out. btw the clutch had plenty of life left when we inspected it.
The rear seal is very easy to mangle during installation. I popped $50 for the J-tool on eBay figuring it was cheaper than a clutch, and it works great. Let us know what you find when you get it opened up.
