calling pat g Pat, you specked me a custom cam for my tfs 215 heads , and suggested that i have the heads milled from 64cc to 61cc for higher compression. My question is will the milling affect my pushrod length? I currently have tfs 7.500 length pushrods, will i have to go shorter?
To go from 64 to 61cc will require approximately a .018" flat mill. With no other changes, that will put your rockers .018" closer to your cam. Obviously, you'll need a shorter pushrod. Whether the 7.500" pushrod you have now will work depends on how everything mocks up with a pushrod checking tool.
