dual springs or singles for X1??
Is it safe to run 918s with the X1 cam or do you need to go dual springs? I have talked to speedtek and they recomend 918s with the F1, but MTI recomends dual springs for the X1. The cams are very similar so why the difference. I got the impresion that MTI feels the 918s will fail. I know they are just recomendations, and I will go with dual springs when I get new heads, but I don't want to cut my stock heads.

You should ask if the REV 1.25" Dual Valve Springs, for stock spring pocket, will work. I don't have any experience with REV, so can't tell ya if there a good spring or not. I say the dual spring is the way to go but I believe other's are using the 918's...

Hmmm, well, kind of a dilemma. I say if you're running stock heads and don't want to cut them, use a set of the NEW 918's with the blue stripe or wait for Comp's new double springs that won't require any head machining - or just go all the way and go with Comp 987's.
If you want any longevity go with the 987's - if you use 918's, you might want to just check them every so often.
I think the REV's are a bad idea - as I've been hearing of them breaking quite often recently. Sounds like a worse decision than 918's IMO.
