search is your friend

the general consensus is to swap in a cam that is worthwhile and a ton of people recommend the TR224

http://thunderracing.com/

Its a good middle ground cam, some people step up to the 228 if they want a little bit more power. Just do some research and have fun with the car! The main issue I've seen with people and cams is that they go too big out the gate and want smaller, or too small and want bigger....just do research so you only have to do the swap once.

if you dont have emissions i would go with a 228/228 or patrick's 228/232 he is a sponsor on here. Both will drive awesome and not give you surge problems and should easily put you over 400rwhp.

Everybody has a different definition of fast so I have a friend of mine with a frc vette with just a TR224 and full exhaust and stall and it runs 12.20 all day. He drives to work with it every day 50 miles one way with no issues.

Make sure your MAF is plugged in/all your clamps are tight. I know I sucked some water up in my intake and it screwed the MAF up and I threw that code (along with several others)

Did you disconnect the negative terminal for 15 minutes? If not you could try there and if it continues you might have another issue.

I would recommend a 228ish duration cam for your application if you dont want to lose good overall drivability stay away from under 224 duration cams ( not that much gain in it ) and I would stay away from high 230's and up duration cams also as they are generally for higher RPM power. If you want a smooth idle you will have to stay at 114 or higher on the LSA ( lobe seperation angle )

I would say a 228ish to 234ish duration range cam with a 114 LSA would be a good place for you to start looking into.

I myself like Texas Speed, you can look at their cam selections and call one of the guys up there they are very helpful and can guide you to a good cam for what you want the car to do.

I am in California too.I went with a custom grind comp cam 224/224 561/561 @115.I wanted a really good driver car that had a fairly smooth idle. The tr224 and the tsp224r are really good smooth ,drivable cams. The biggest you can go and pass smog, with a good tune is 228/228.(pulls really good, slightly bigger.Yes 114 lsa would be a good place to start.Take your time and read a lot about it before you decide, thats what I did.
