Engine break in questions??

Engine break in questions?? Having my whole engine rebuilt to a 383 stroker. After i have the engine put back in, i will obivously bring it to someone to tune, but how should i break in the engine. Is the guy who tunes my engine gonna run the **** out of it on the dyno for the first couple of hundred miles? Whats the best way to do an engine break in?
I know a lot of people say to heat cycle the motor. Then change the oil. Probably about another 100 miles or so...change the oil. Do that once or twice...should be fine. Downshift when coming to a stop. It helps the valvesprings, and the rest of the valvetrain.
Hopefully that sounds semi-accurate. But again, I never claimed to be a engine expert.

When i built my engine i let it run untill I got all the air burped out of the coolant then changed the oil/filter. the car never left the garage. The next day I put about 50 miles on it not exceeding 4,000rpms. Gave it another oil/filter. after that i made a few 6k shifts put another 50+ miles or so changed the oil back to full synthetic and after that... give her every thing ya got.
