Engine Build Software I am an engineer by trade and am planning on building a Big block that will yield around 650HP and same torque. I would like to design the specifications from the ground up using simulation software. There are several sources of commercially available "virtual engine" software, and simulated dyno performance models that use the various engine specification (i.e., Bore, Stroke, Cam duration/Lift, injectors, compression ratio, displacement, etc.) and tell you what to expect with the geometry being used, and if you have tolerance issues (munch a valve).

You are posting in the wrong subdirectory for a big block engine. Scroll down a little further and you will see a small block/big block directory.
To answer your question, I bought the Dyno2000 program several years ago. It can be very hepful to compare cams and head flows. I can't comment on how accurate the predicted horse power is, because I never had my heads flowed. But if you just use it as a comparison between one cam to another it can be a useful tool. You should definitely pick up a program before you start buying too many parts.
