Ported Flow Numbers Question.
Hi,
I have been here reading awhile, and just joined recently. Very nice site! I am still getting an understanding of everything, and was wondering what some of the site experts opinions were of these flow numbers.
These are 241 castings that have been ported.

LS1 STAGE 3 PORTED HEADS
HEADS ARE PORTED. AND FLOWED @ 28" H2O
241 CASTINGS & 225 CC INTAKE PORTS
flowed on a Super Flow 600 Bench no pipe on a 202 valve
Just remember flow numbers aren't everything. A 280cfm head can spank a 330cfm head, especially considering the LSX intakes restrict airflow up top. Look for the results you're looking for and decide which heads get you to where you want to be. Don't just pick based on flow numbers.

Just going by the numbers, I thought this looked pretty good, but doesn't the 225CC Intake ports generally like a bigger cam such as in the 23X-24X duration.
My long term plans are 4:10's with possibly a 224/228 and some heads that compliment this as the car will never see the track and I don't care about peak numbers. I just want the "holy crap" feeling in the "seat of the pants" meter.
Your ideas are good. Use a cam profile in that range 232-236/240-244 .590+/.590+ on a 112. Now you need some compression, and a intake setup FAST 92/92 etc.. to get the air moving in and out for you. Fly cutting might be in order with your camshaft selection from the head work, because of milling, aftermarket valves, etc..?
