I drove my ARE 422ci about 350 miles in one day once, from Chicago to Milwaukee and around.

You can absolutely do that I'd run quiet exhaust and dual cutouts so you don't go crazy.

I think that big cubes actually make for better daily driving.

1. You can run the same cam and it wont be nearly as peaky, hard to start, etc.

2. You can run cats and a reasonable exhaust and you will still have more than enough power to blow away street tires at any legal speed. So the car is quiet enough not to drive you nuts.

The only downside is if you have an M6, you have to find some kind of streetable clutch that will hold that power. Im looking into getting a McLeod Street Twin so that I'll have reasonable pedal pressure yet a clutch that holds. (My 02 Z06 cluth, supposedly strong, cant hold up to a shift free 4th gear pull :-/ )

i have an iron block 421 in 99 vette with spec stage 3 clutch and alum flywheel, drive it anywhere in the country, get over 30mpg, over 500 rwhp, and no problems. if you want the recipe, drop me a line or look at soem of my posts. as with any good recipe, the ingredients you use make the difference in the final outrcome.
