A different cam thread
Most guys want max power or that lopey idle. I kinda want a different kind of cam. One that...
1. Deliver's great low and mid range torque
2. Stock like idle
3. Stock rev limit
Whats out there guys that fits what i want to a T? Any suggestions? Thanks
BTW - This cam will ofcourse be run with LT's and a catted Y along with a custom catback.

thought about 1.8 rockers on your stock cam? the cam your talking about is probably an ls6 cam or as everyone else will post at least 20 more times ....Get a custon grind.... talk to (insert pat g or predator z here)

I am sure you will get a lot of answers to this, I am running the VHP_056 cam. 216/224 114.5 LSA. Lobe rates are slower than say XER, and the cam is quiet with a little chop at idle. Stock rev limit and power peaks at 6,000 RPM. Auto doesn't require a stall.

IOW, that kind of cam is available from sources outside of this venue.

TR224 is proven cam, as well as the 228R, from Thunder Racing. i would highly recommend having a professional custom spec a cam for you though. someone like PatrickG can have one made for you that will suit your needs "to a 'T'"

Not really interested in the LS6 cam. I'm 100% sure i'm probably going to go custom but was hoping for some idea's other then that.

From what I know, you won't even notice the difference between a "custom" cam and one of the off the shelf track/street/time proven cams. I guess we all want to be different, but c'mon, is it worth it?
