Default Lifter preload

After some research i found that the lifter preload on the comp 850-16's should be around .080 to .100

My exhaust valves on the TEA 5.3 sit higher than my intake valves, so with .060 shims under the pedestals to get the wipe right i have .060 preload on the intake and .087 on the exhaust. This is with 7.400 pushrods

This might be a stupid question but i was wondering if i could run a 7.425 pushrod on the intake and a 7.400 on the exhaust. That would make my preload .085 on the intake and .087 on the exhaust. I seem to remember working on some big block chevys with them having 2 different length pushrods.

Or will the .060 intake and .087 exhaust preload work and not be to noisy?

thanks

Since you have the pushrods you could try it and always use 8 longer ones later as "Plan B".
