Help a NOOB!!!
Hey guys, I am new to this forum and have a few questions. Excuse my ignorance, but I am a jeep guy and I am not real versed on new chevy motors, although that is all I drive lol...anyways I have an 08 GMC vortec max with the 6.0 and love it. I just found a 2004 6.0 out of a 2500 with the 4L80E and transfer case still attached. It came with the computer and ALL wiring. I bought it for $1043.00 and my questions are:
1. Is that price good?
2. Is this considered an LS motor? I know it is an LQ4
3. If it isnt an LS motor, whats the difference?
Thanks
Mike

Dang, 14 views and nothing......Ok I have another question. What can I do to the motor other than a tune to get a little more horsepower? I dont want to throw a crap load of money at it, but maybe throwing in a cam or something like that while I have it out? I would like to see something above 400hp. It is going into my jeep rockcrawler, that I will be driving around town also. I plan on doing a 2500 mile trip in it also.

That is a killer price. Yes it is a Generation 3 motor (LS1 based). There are serveral motors in this category. Check out the brother site, Performancetrucks.net, by using the tab up top.
