It looks like i may finally get to race an LS1 car and i know im gonna lose. Question is, HOW BAD?. I have a 305TPI 87 Z28 w/ 4:10's, Auburn differential, flowmaster 80 series, cat delete, and Transgo shift kit with a Corvette Servo in my 700r4...the other car is a COMPLETELY STOCK 98' LS1 a4 Camaro. Just wondering how bad it will be...thanx in advance

i kno ur not supposed to post what ifs, but this IS gonna happen in like 2-3 days and its a friend of mine. I know i will lose i was just wondering about how many lenghts it'll be

 

lengths, a lot. you might get him off the line with your 4.10s and 305 insta-torque but after that its over. the ls1 is just going to pull away and keep pulling. ill say 8-10 lengths.

At least that. A friend of mine has a 305 TPI car with a few mods and I ran the 1/4 mile in close to what he can the 1/8th mile in

 

won't even be close. been there, done that with my moderately built 350 TPI. TPI just shuts down after 4500 rpms.

ive raced 2 305's in my friends bone stock 98 auto mustang gt and it was about 10 lengths so im gunna say 20

 

Ask him to give you a hit and 20 car lengths.

 

well your car is about a 15 second car the l98 guys run 14.7 a ls1 fbody is about 13.3-13.4 so your looking at about a 1.7 second difference. your 1/4 mile speed should be about 91 mph so he will be about 218 feet in front of you so thats about 10-13 cars or like 4 buses.

 

Why is this in the internal engine section?

 

You will probably have his license plate memorized by the end of the 1/4 .
