Default replacing lifters...help

can you change the lifters without taking the head off, or can i just take my intake manifold off and the pcv manifold? i had one go bad and my engine is ticking bad! Thanks

nope thats one down side of an LS1 you have to take the heads of unless you can turn the motor upside down and take them out that way which almost never works.. its time for heads and cam then for you

^^^ what he said, and when you do the lifters replace the plastic trays that the lifters sit in. Their prety cheap from gm.

well its a high mileage motor and all of my valve springs are good are you can you see all the valves in them so i didnt drop a valve its a ticking noise! when i rev it up i got a misfire and im thinking with the cam it just made it go bad...

heads have to come off,,,, same happned 2 me... not too bad..
