Default Comp R lifters after 7k.

Okay so ive been running Comp R lifters in my new forged turbo motor for about 7k this year. Im running them with 1.75 comp adjustable rockers and i have it set a tad over 0 preload, about an 1/8 turn past 0.

So far ive had no problems at all,no noises, everything looks great.

Ive heard so many bad stories about these lifters.

My question is,is it safe to say im okay if they have gone this long with out failure? Were most of the failures right away or did it take time?

Don't worry about a problem that you don't have. Your preload sounds correct for that style of lifter IMO.

I just get alittle freaked when i read about these lifters coming apart. I drive my car every where so reliability is a huge factor.

Ive always thought it was weird that the only lifter that i hear fails is the one that needs a different preload than stock. So i wonder how much of it is installation error.

To much preload on this lifters (which you don't have, yours being correct) thats why these lifters fail. Missed used for engine application and or improper installation also playing a big part to.

Agreed 100%.... I have used the Comp R lifters in many SBC, LT1 and Gen III engines with no problems. Most of the problems were user ERROR, not bad parts
