10.50's with this "mild" 383 setup? if my block isnt messed up im going to reuse the stock block. cleaned up with a slight hone. scoggin dickey 383 stroker kit going to try and get as close to 11.1 without going over 231-234 610/610 11+2 custom cam dart pro1 225cc heads with a "mild" port job fast 90 with a NW90 30# svo's with a new fuel pump. kooks 1 7/8 headers 3400 stall/ th350 with 4.11 gears. rev limiter will be 7500 you think this is 10.50's worthy? ill prolly switch to a 6 speed so i can use it as my DD:eyes: |
sounds like you should be close ,what will your weight be ? |
once you switch to a six speed though it a hole diff ball game |
Dont expect it to last long spinning to 7500. With that small cam you have no reason to spin more than 6700. BTW, I'm no expert, just giving my opinion. In my 383 with a 238/240 cam, rev limiter is 6900. |
it wont stay together long at 7500 rpm's unless it is put together RIGHT. I would shift around 6800-7000 at the highest and you will be happy. I dont think it has 10.50's in it unless your race weight is kinda light, but you never know, build it and find out...good luck. |
add another 100 hp and better converter and lower gears u might |
I don't think 30# injectors are big enough either. |
converter is a lil low. i could see low 11s out of it though |
i don't see a 10.50 out of that setup. you'll have to trap like a madman to make up for the weakass 60' from that converter. not to mention...if it's going in a 3300+lb fbody - hahaha no way. why the high rev limiter? that cam will fall off long before 7k in a 383. if you upped the cam to something in the high 240s and got a 4000+ stall i can MAYBE see 10.70s with a hard hook. |
i dont see a 10.50 with a 6 speed on that setup. MAYBE... with an auto. but i see low 11's. |
that cam will be done at 6500 for peak power, there are better heads than Dart (unless you already have them) you will need to be high 1.40's to have even a remote chance. suspension- hole shot will play a HUGE role in how low your e.t is. |
