Removing engine thru the bottom some questions..

Back on topic. Excellent news on your turbos being ok so far. You are running stock oil pump? Just trying to maybe figure out some common threads. I have slp but think run standard pressure spring.the high pressure might be too much and put oil thru the seals possibly although JM has melling with high pressure spring I think and no oil out the back?

As for the clip talking the black clip on the brake lines under the driver side shield where the cruise cable also clips to same place. I know its stupid but that clip don't want to come off for me so can take the lines out of the bracket. That and hanging that air compressor is all I have left to do unless decide to take off bottom bolt of the steering shaft and take the shaft right off rather than pulling it out as engine goes down if it don't come out on its own. Hate to bend the steering shaft..But that bottom bolt did seem in there pretty good and hate to round it off. although do have some cool tools for that instance.
A lot of that time was waiting on/ordering parts, though.
Now just need to recruit someone other than the wife. She means well but not anywhere near as mechanically skilled as you are Kelly. Here name is Shelly.
I got her the 96z vert in my sig. I maintain it,pay for it ,gas and plate it but the good news is I also mod and drive it!

Ok bought some straps today say 5000 break strength think load was like 1500 though so not sure if two of them is enough? Still confused.I was still thinking to have chain loose as backup .
I have now loosened all my bolts, shock tower, trans crossmember and kmember a bit to make sure they are not stuck. They aren't. But don't have electric or air impact so guess will have to undo the bolts by hand. So you can guys are sure I can reach under with car just basically on the ground and undo the bolts on the kmember?
I will be putting steel ramps under the back wheels like saw in one post.
That will get the car up higher. I am not 100% sure will take hood off head clearance will be tight can bungie it lower and maybe get clearance or can take it off if need be.I will have buddy helping so can be watching all this stuff.
I also figured could put jacks under frame rails and then put car a bit higher to take off k member bolts using my floor jack under the k member and then letting it down .Assume that will work as well.
Guess a few ways to skin a cat.
So with luck should be looking at empty engine compartment by tommorrow sometime.

when you undo the brake lines from the bosch brake block lol, make sure you have something to plug those holes with otherwise it will make a shitty mess and keep leaking for days even after you thought it stopped.
BTW Thanks Keliente for that writeup, i referred to it several times and was very helpful

Ok done the deed and can add a few tips and pics..
Buddy came by around 9 planned strategy and were done by 11:30. I did all the prepwork before hand and didn't set any speed records more worried about being careful.
We put the car on the steel ramps first and put safety jacks in front of the car behind the k member on the frame rails behind firewall.
We put safety jack under trans. We put wheel dollies under the wheels.
Then took out shock tower bolts, then tranny crossmember bolts and then put floor jack under kmember and hooked up cherry picker has to put it in last hole on overhead arm and had to have floor legs all the way out.
Then undid k member bolts started letting engine down with the floor jack. Then put another floor jack under trans and started letting it down. inch here ,inch there checking for hanging up stuff. Brake line did catch but no harm done caught it and forgot had remote slave bleeder attached no harm done there either caught it.
When had dropped engine and trans down pretty much all the way put a wood dolly on back engine and trans and left floor jack on front of engine .
Took car up to max on the cherry picker. We could have not gone quite as high if had hooked chain a bit lower. Also I chained to front frame rails was a bit nervous to use the rad support or other flimsy stuff. This meant the floor legs of the picker did go under a bit farther so we had to angle out the engine a bit..One pushed from one side and the other guy pulled and it came out fine.
Here are the pics.
Anyway questions ask away while its fresh in my mind.
Will of course be putting engine/trans back in same way. Don't expect any problems and its awesome to have things right in front of me to work on now. Very very nice compared to mucking around in tight engine compartment of the fourth gens.
