P&P head or buy performance head? Hello guys,
I have a friend who owns a 2001 Lumina SS, it has the LS1 engine, we are replacing the Auto tranny with a T5 tremec, and we already got HPtuners, planning to get a fidanza light weight FW, about performance upgrades, I read many threads about what parts to get and such stuff, but we were wondering it its feasible to buy a performance head from Ts, LG, Patriot, etc... or we can just shim our heads, port and polish them and get a set of cams, rocker arms, springs, valves. We are located in Beirut,Lebanon, so shipping charges count a bit :-)

Do you have a reputable porter in Lebanon? If so, then it may be cost effective to have your heads milled and ported there. If not, porting them yourself would not gain as much power as having a shop here send you a set of CNC ported heads. You guys are lucky... rear wheel drive Lumina SS. lol.
