I'm guessing dirty or weak lifter assuming you have not increased shift points with HPP3 and over reved. Try engine flush, it may help for a dirty lifter and is easy to do. For a weak lifter slightly thicker oil may help. And that rocker arm and pushrod are quick to check as well.

...ls1 engines have rockers that blow their needle bearings frequently....

pull the valve covers and see if you have a busted rocker, bent pushrod, or broken spring...

I've pulled the covers and there isn't anything that I can see wrong.

The rockers have the slightest play in them from side to side ... but the springs look fine ..

I guess I will take the pushrods out and try to see if they're bent.

Anything else I should be looking for? I'm not a mechanic. I need details of what it'll look like.

You guys are gonna think I'm an idiot !

Well -- in frustration I just stood looking at my engine run.. stood there for about 10 minutes just watching it..

I noticed the first spark plug wire on the driver side wiggling .. IN TIME WITH THE TICK !

So I cut the motor .. pulled the wire .. and felt the plug and it was loose. I tightened it .. put the wire back on .. and started the car .. NO TICK !

WOO !

The only thing is I think the hole could be stripped. BAD NEWS.. It wouldn't tighten down fully .. I'm gonna go turn on it some more to see if its just screwed almost all the way out but .. if the hole is stripped .. what do I do? New block? :o\

The spark plug is in the head. A used stock casting is pretty cheap, but the labor to R&R it could be expensive.

They make sparkpug thread chasers.

Put some grease on it, get a vacuum, and go to town.

You can have a helicoil installed in the head. Not expensive to have done. The threads will be stronger than stock as well...

DOH!!!! Did you recently do a spark plug change??? I'm just wondering why it would have been loose in the first place...that's a little strange if no one has played in there. But like everyone said...just use a helicoil...should be able to perform this without having to remove the head.

heli coils are used to fix busted threads,,,,they can be used without removing the heads...ask your parts store ...bring in a old plug and match it up...
